Meet Fondren Fitness instructor Chasidy Johnson!
My name is Chasidy Johnson, and I’m a personal trainer/influencer. I fell in love with fitness in 2012. I started competing in NPC shows doing bikini competitions and found that my hard work paid off! I competed for 3 years and enjoyed competing until I realized I had a strong passion for promoting a healthy lifestyle to others personally! I TRULY enjoy helping people reach their goals. To be there when they start is so exciting to me! I love to push others to their fullest potential.
- What inspired you to get into fitness and health and be a class instructor?
I started working out my sophomore year of college due to being overwhelmed with school work and campus involvement. I needed an outsource, so I decided to hit the gym one day and liked it! I never thought I’d have a passion for fitness, but I’ve learned so much knowledge and fell in love. I wanted to spread what I’ve learned and help others, and I did. I never thought I’d teach classes but once I started, I couldn’t stop. To see people feel good afterwards, express themselves doing workouts, being determined and willing — I couldn’t turn away from that!
2. What do you like best about Fondren Fitness?
I like that Fondren Fitness has diversity. I enjoy meeting different people inside the gym and my class! I love my class! I also like the machines. I definitely like trying new things using the equipment there.
3. What advice would you have for someone just starting on their fitness journey?
My advice to someone starting their fitness journey is to never give up! This journey isn’t easy for anyone. We all have our ups and downs with this. The most important thing to know before you start, is to know that you’re truly ready. Your mind has to be made up about it. Take the first step for YOU, never do it for anyone else.
4. Can you describe your HIIT & Core class for someone who wants to take it but is not sure what it entails?
HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) helps you burn a lot of calories in a short period of time, lose fat, gain muscle, reduce heart rate, blood pressure, etc. There’s so many great benefits!
I teach you how to use your core in every movement. We train for 30 mins every Saturday at 10:30am. Whether you’re looking to stay active, get in shape, burn more fat, or build a strength base.
